I wrote a free Ebook some years back which detailed 7 mistakes you need to to avoid to successfully learn another language. For a while, I had the summary of the contents of that ebook here. Since then I have updated it and created a completely revised edition, with one mistake replaced with another, which you can now download by registering yourself. The Ebook explains in detail why these practices are flawed and make some suggestions as to what you can do about them.
Many language learners I come across express either disappointment or frustration in their language learning. Â There are a number of simple things I have identified in my over 30 years of teaching languages and language teachers that can reduce the disappointments and frustrations that language learners can feel. Â I have seen time and time again how language learners can improve the results they get by doing and not doing a number of simple things.
There may still be other adjustments that you need to make in how you go about your learning, but if you persist and are determined to achieve the levels you want AND you are prepared to do the actions needed, then there is every chance you will get there. The problem is that many language learners persist in using the methods they have always used and expect to get different results. That someone said is the definition of insanity – “doing the same thing and expecting different results”.
So if you are keen to find out what they are, just register yourself to the right here, and I’ll send it to you immediately.
thanks alot for these professional analysis. For me the grammar causes me great deal of troubles, exactly when I want to say anything…always I feel my sentences are so tall and far from native-like ones… may be because I was taught by non natives, but I think the method I was taught is the reason of my weakness in grammar…
